butterfly

The butterfly was cleaning her wings, when the ladybird settled down beside her.
Do you know, what troubles me lately, the butterfly said against the ladybird.
I cannot dawdle”
What’s that dawdling, the ladybird said.
Yeah, how can I explain it tot you, as clear as possible, the butterfly said, while she continues cleaning.
Maybe the ant knows, how I can explain it to you.
So they went to the ant, who was busy clearing her house.
Hello ant”, the butterfly said, can you explain to the ladybird, what dawdling means.
I haven’t got the time for it now, the ant said, maybe you can ask it for the mole.
So the butterfly went to the mole, with the ladybird, who was just digging a corridor.
The butterfly bowed his head into the corridor and called for the mole, “hello mole”, could you explain to the ladybird, what dawdling means.
I haven’t got the time for it, the mole said, otherwise my corridor collapses.
Maybe the frog does know it.
So the butterfly went to the pond, where the frog lied deadly quiet between the waterlilies.
“Hello frog”, the butterfly said, could you explain to the ladybird, what dawdling means.
No I cannot, the frog said, not now,, I am just paying attention to my supper, which comes nearby.
But maybe you can ask it on the pond, when it is totally quiet. The butterfly and the ladybird stood still before the pond and waited until the watersurface was as smooth as a mirror.
The butterfly bended forward to the pond and she saw how beautiful she looked like and how beautiful she had cleaned her wings. And she asked to the pond, can you explain, as clear as bright, what means dawdling and when it’s happening, and who are with you then, and what you’re doing exactly, and if you are slow or fast and can everybody do it or butterflies cannot do it.
But the pond didn’t say anything back and the butterfly said to the ladybird, I am going tot hesitate now, if we need to wait for an answer.
What is hesitating, the ladybird asked, is that something we need to ask to everybody.
The butterfly sighed and closed her wings.

We wish you a very happy and healthy 2005
