Mijn gesluierde vogel, praatte zacht in mijn oor,terwijl het woestijnzand opstoof.
Bij de oase trilden de kamelen van de inspanningen van die dag.
De bedoeïenen van al-ak-mar trokken een brede grijns toen ze me zagen stuntelen op het spijkerbed.
En langzaam wist ik heel zeker, dat Fatima zou komen.
Ze zou komen uit het noorden, waar de nachten kouder waren en ze zou geuren naar bloemen, die ik nooit gekend had.
En ze zou me alles leren van kussen en ontelbaar strelen.
En wat de gesluierde nog meer fluisterde in mijn oor was oorverdovend en verpletterend.
Ze zou mij aanraken op mijn zachtste ziel en ik zou beter worden, als ik was geweest.
En mijn haren zouden in het zonlicht wapperen en ze zou blijven terugkomen iedere nacht en mijn voeten verwarmen met houtskool.
En zo zou ze zijn, totdat de sterren aan de hemel zouden doven.
En we zouden samen schitteren en dwalen in die eindeloze tuinen, die maar bleven geuren.
En zo zou ik haar vragen mijn naam te spellen en te blijven.
